N.G. Acharya and D.K. Marathe College of Arts, Science and Commerce was established in 1978 by Chembur Trombay Education Society. As the first degree college in Chembur, it was started with the aim to cater to the higher education needs of the students from Chembur and the neighbouring areas. The college, affiliated to University of Mumbai has been accredited by NAAC. The College offers all subjects under Arts, Science and Commerce, and also other vocational courses like B.M.S. (Bachelor of Management Science), B.Sc. IT (Bachelor in Information Technology), B.Sc.- Computer Science, B.Com. (Accountancy and Finance), B.Com. (Banking and Insurance), M.Com., M.Sc Chemistry and M.Sc. IT. Along with academic activities, the college encourages students to take active participation in extra-curricular activities and sports. In an on-going programme our college endeavours to help students in their over-all development. The college hosts ‘Tarunostav’ an annual 5-day cultural festival. In 2001 the College came up with Arth-Manthan, a unique academic festival based entirely on Economics and also the first of its kind in India.
